PRIME LOCATION
Zhuhai is located in southern China, on the western bank of the Pearl River Estuary in Guangdong province. Zhuhai is across the water from Hong Kong, the worldwide financial, shipping, trade and shopping center, and shares a border with Macau, the Las Vegas of the Orient. With the completion of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge, Zhuhai will be the only city in China connected to Hong Kong and Macau by land.
GATEWAY TO THE PEARL RIVER DELTA
The Pearl River Delta is now the largest urban metropolis in the world*, surpassing Tokyo both in area and land mass. The nine cities of the Pearl River Delta are home to an estimated 110 million people, and have a combined GDP of over 5 trillion RMB. Situated in the heart of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau metropolis, Zhuhai is within 120 km of PRD power-cities Guangzhou, Dongguan, Zhongshan and Foshan, and only 150 km from global manufacturing center Shenzhen; within easy reach of customers, suppliers, and an enormous consumer population.
A MAJOR BORDER JUNCTION
Zhuhai has jurisdiction over eight entry and exit ports, including Gongbei Customs, the largest land port in the country. In 2013, over 99 million people were processed through Zhuhai immigration.

TRANSPORTATION HUB
Zhuhai connects China to the world through an extensive network of land, rail, ocean and air transportation links:
Land
Four major expressways pass through Zhuhai, connecting inland and western cities with Zhuhai, Hengqin Island, Hong Kong and Macau. These expressways are also conveniently connected to the Jinwan Airport and Gaolan Port.
Rail
The Zhuhai Railway Station (also called Gongbei Station) is next to the Gongbei Port of Entry. The Guangzhou-Zhuhai Railway, with an annual freight capacity of 60 million tons, connects Zhuhai with Guangzhou, Foshan, and Jiangmen. The Guangzhou-Zhuhai Intercity MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) is a dedicated passenger transit system linking Guangzhou and Zhuhai. Construction of the Guangzhou-Foshan-Jiangmen Intercity Light Rail is underway.
Ocean
Zhuhai has seven main port areas including Gaolan Port, which is the only deep water port on the west coast of the Pearl River Delta. By connecting to the Guangzhou-Zhuhai Railway and the Gaolan Port Highway, Gaolan Port is a major hub in the Xijiang River Basin transport system. The Jiuzhou Port includes a container terminal and a high-speed ferry connection to the Port of Hong Kong, one of the busiest ports in the world.
Air
Zhuhai is easily accessible to four international airports: Hong Kong, Macau, Guangzhou and Shenzhen. Convenient ferry transportation is available from within the Hong Kong Airport directly to Zhuhai¡¯s Jiuzhou Port. Zhuhai¡¯s own Jinwan Airport offers direct flights to and from more than 20 cities throughout China, including Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu and Guilin.
COLLEGES, UNIVERSITIES, AND TECHNICAL TRAINING
Ten prestigious universities are home each year to 145,000 graduate and undergraduate students in Zhuhai, providing a ready stream of skilled labor and technical talent. In addition, Zhuhai has seven secondary vocational schools and technical colleges. Notably, 12 years of tuition is free to all students in Zhuhai, from primary through secondary school.
FAVORABLE INVESTMENT POLICIES
Zhuhai was one of the four original Special Economic Zones established in China, and the SEZ area has since been expanded to include every district in Zhuhai. Preferential investment policies and incentives are offered for advanced manufacturing, high tech industries, high-end services, import and export, technological innovation, and talent. As a national level development zone, the Hengqin New Area offers even more favorable policies.
