The 3rd Huajin Securities WTA Elite Trophy celebrated its 100-day countdown on July 22.
Services at this year's tournament will further include leisure-and-fashion-combined entertainment. A Zhuhai food festival with local characteristics will extend the success achieved at the Asia-Sweeping Savor Food Festival last session. Cantonese cuisines are now also on the menu.
The outdoor carnival is to return with more creative, cultural, and arts activities for premiere audio-visual experiences.
Previous WTA singles champion Jelena Jankovic and China's tennis rising star Duan Yingying made a dedicated trip to Zhuhai to witness the launch of the countdown with the public representatives.
Jankovic, a Serbian professional player, first came to Zhuhai for the event in 2015, and was happy to return. The picturesque city, support from Chinese fans, and hospitality from the tournament have all become great memories, she said.
100 days later, from October 31 to November 5, the 2017 Zhuhai WTA Super Elite will be held in Zhuhai Hengqin International Tennis Center. The tournament prize will be increased to $2.28 million.
Reportedly, top 9-19 WTA Elites on the WTA singles ranking points will gather in Zhuhai to present a bruising showdown.
