During the fifth meeting of the Ninth National People¡¯s Congress of Zhuhai, Mr YAO Yisheng, mayor of the city, indicated that Doumen District would be a Green Food Supply Zone for Hong Kong and Macao. The government is speeding up the construction of an ecological Doumen.
New Business Opportunity for Agricultural Products in Doumen
In December last year, Baijiao Modern Agricultural Industrial Park (The Park) settled in Doumen, covering an area of 56 hectares with an investment of 2.5 billion yuan. The Park serves as the integration of modern cold chain base of seafood processing and storage, trade centre of aquatic products and a contemporary technological park.
The Park is adjacent to Doumen Port and near to the highway, which provides excellent logistics advantages. In particular, after the opening of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB), the marine products can be transported to Hong Kong in just one hour. The market of aquatic products in Doumen will usher in substantial business opportunities, driving common prosperity for the peasants in the region.
High-standards to Build a New Doumen
Doumen plans to invest 2.014 billion yuan in building up a new town in 2018, with a substantial increase of 363%, aiming to achieve an overall improvement of the urban infrastructure construction. Doumen will speed up the development of the southern area of Jianfeng Mountain, including the creation of four centres, including technological and innovative centre, exhibition centre, tourism centre and business centre, and five public parks, such as the national agricultural park, wetland park of Huangyang River etc. The district strives to attract 4.6 billion yuan investment this year to carry out the construction.
